Quality of Hot Spring Water in Miyazaki Prefecture

Abstract
The quality of hot spring water in Miyazaki Prefecture was studied based on the data for the past fifty years.

According to the main ionic compositions, the hot springs in Miyazaki Prefcture were classified into several types. They consisted of simple springs (30%), hydrocarbonated springs (22%), common salt springs (20%) among others.

10% of hot springs in Miyazaki Prefecture contained specific compositions with high concentration. They were classified into such groupings as sulfur springs, iron springs,carbonated springs.

The springs showed regional differences in the water quality.

はじめに
本県には、古くからの温泉地として知られる京町温泉、霧島火山及びその周辺部の温泉、さらに、宮崎市周辺やその他の市町村で最近開発された温泉等、多くの温泉が存在する。

当所は、県内で唯一の温泉分析機関であるが、今般、温泉分析業務が50年を経過したのを契機に、今までの分析データを解析し、本県温泉の泉質等について若干の知見を得たので報告する。
