Abstract
We have evaluated the concentration of tetra- through octa- chlorodibenzo-p-dioxins
(PCDDs), tetra- through octa- chlorodibenzofurans (PCDFs) and coplanar polychlorobiphenyls
(Co-PCBs) in environmental river water in Miyazaki prefecture since 2002, and
analyzed the data of homologue/isomer pattern in 2002 and 2003.
As a result, dioxin pollution in environmental river water seemed to be caused
by agricultural chemicals, combustion and PCB products.
PCDDs occupied a large amount of dioxin concentration in river water. While
dioxin concentration in river water contained a low percentage of PCDFs and Co-PCBs.
A source of PCDDs pollution seemed to be agricultural chemicals, that of PCDFs
seemed to be combustion and PCB products from each proportion of homologue. A
pollution source of Co-PCBs seemed to be PCB products from isomer pattern.
Key words : PCDDs, PCDFs, Co-PCBs, homologue/isomer pattern, dioxin pollution
